I use non-toxic glue as a vehicle in my paintings. Like watching a Polaroid, the glue and latex intermix and develop slowly, sometimes within hours. Each thin, skin-like, film creates a distance between each layer. This allows light to pass through to the colors beneath, within the glue, creating depths paint could not provide by itself.
With my earlier art experiences living in South Florida from 1990-1996 I have, in the past year of 2010, started reintroducing paintings on wood surfaces in the form of functional furniture as well as hollow door panels. Always using unused or disgarded latex house paints I like describe myself as a rustic contemporary folk artist.
